With mission 'Make in India' on her mind, ace designer Archana Kochhar recently showcased her exceptional collection 'Ahimsa Resama' at the FTl MODA New York Fashion Week Spring Summer 2016.

“ It was exciting to represent and showcase Indian fashion and fabric and promote the concept of 'Make in India' at the Mecca of fashion. The response has been very nice and the collection was well-received.

The collection is an amalgamation of global silhouettes with ethnic embroideries. The colour flows in the nude palettes of beige and ivory offset with rose gold embellishments. The embroideries are a mélange of rich Indian traditional gold zari thread, intellectual texturing techniques and Swarovski sprinkle.  By saving each silkworm in the process of creating Ahimsa silk, they are set free as silk moths.

“This transformation inspired me to incorporate hundreds of tiny silk moth wings and cocoons shape textures which are then binded together in the form of intricate textural embroidery which is the focal element of the collection”, shared the talented designer.
