For a person, it is difficult to remember each and every day of life. We just have memories with us of those days where we either have something special or the worst or tragic day of our life. Author Aruna Gurumurthy has penned down her first book titled Diya: A Megawatt Approach to Change, where she had shared her experience of 30 years of her life. “It took me three decade to live with this book and just three months to write it,” said Gurumurthy at the launch of her book at Oxford book store.

The book describes her observation and reflection of everyday and every year over three decades. On asking her about the title of the book, she said, “Diya is the name of my daughter and diya also means light; it creates light everywhere. So, I always wanted that when people read my book they bring a change within themselves.”

Gurumurthy has worked as a medical researcher at Duke University, University of North Carolina and University of California. The author believes that true change can happen when one immerses oneself in community and empathises with other’s mind.

The book aspires to bring character and organisation to people’s thoughts and actions. It wishes to see a world where everyone interacts with each other in a polite and friendly manner without any feeling of hatred. “I want to bring world peace and calm through the book,” the author wrapped up.
