Salman charms his fans with a live Q and A session online, says Team Viva

Numerous films have been shot on Times Square in New York though it’s very rare for a Bollywood film to find a poster there. But when it’s Salman Khan’s film, it is bound to be an exception. While the makers are leaving no stone unturned for publicity, big Bhai surprised his fans by going live on a micro-blogging site and answering their questions.

Using #AskTubelight, fans asked Salman about his Eid release, his bonding with his brothers and more in an hour-long session. Tubelight generated over 110,000 conversations on Twitter and India lit up with tweets from #AskTubelight.

His fans were very inquisitive about the series of do-gooder characters that he has been playing.  Khan admitted that his characters are chosen deliberately. He shared, “Usually, when you are working on a film and the shot is over, one is not able to retain the character. But you see me doing films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Tubelight because I want to implement at least something in my real life that my character has been doing onscreen.”

Talking about separating the reel and the real, considering his onscreen brother is played by none other than Sohail Khan, Khan revealed that he  found working in the film “quite simple” but the emotional factor “quite disturbing.” He said, “In the film Sohail is playing my brother. He goes to fight in the war while I am wondering if he will ever come back or would I be left alone all my life. As a brother, going through that emotion was really difficult for me.”

He also revealed that the best compliment he has ever received from his father was  for Tubelight. He said, “My father told me ‘tumne theek thak kaam kia hai’.”

One of the best questions answered was whether the brothers have any nick names for each other. Khan said, “We never had any nicknames for each other. Sohail was always Sohail and he called me bhai as I was the elder one. Today, out of love and respect people call me Sallu bhai or Bhaijaan. But I love when children call me Salman!”
