Historians to judge Padmavati

The Censor Board has sought the opinion of two veteran historians from Jaipur on film, Padmavati by inviting them to view the film. These historians include Professor Bl Gupta and Professor RS Khangarot.

Speaking to the media, Khangarot said that the entire tussle related to the movie is not between the Karni Sena and Sanjay leela Bhansali, director-producer of Padmavati, but between Bhansali and history and hence “once we watch the film, it will be clear if history has been tampered with or not.”

Gupta said he was all for artistic freedom but then it should not happen at the cost of history. “It should be very clear that we will share the historical facts to the best of knowledge and will not be backing any political party.”

‘I think every role is difficult because for every role, I am trying to take Rani Mukerji out and put the character in it. So, whether it is Naina, Michelle or Babli

(Bunty Aur Babli), the role has to be distinct from each other. They can't be the same. I have to put in a lot of thought in every particular character.’

Wahlberg may turn director

Actor Mark Wahlberg has hinted that he may make his directorial debut next year with a project which details a “true story”.

The 46-year-old has had a glittering career as a Hollywood star, and although he has tried his hand at producing a number of projects, he has never sat in the director's chair on a movie set.

He said that he has a project in mind that he would love to direct. And he believes it could start filming as early as next year.

Speaking to Collider during an interview in support of his new movie All the Money in the World, Wahlberg said: “It's either going to happen this time next year, or maybe five years from now, who knowsIJ But maybe this time next year. I have one specific project that I'm thinking about. It takes place in Wisconsin. It's a true story.”
