‘Need to make better films’

Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who easily slips into roles in the indie and commercial cinema space, said Indian filmmakers need to emphasise on the importance of realistic movies.

Talking about Indian cinema, Nawazuddin said, “We have to make realistic films or world cinema won't take us seriously. Internationally, our films are known for dance, drama, music and the global audiences take us lightly. How long will we keep making films where hero-heroine is dancing around treesIJ”

‘I'm not planning to slow down. It's the industry that has slowed it down for me. I am not getting work. That's that truth. I am not getting the kind of good work that I would like to associate myself with. Also, I don't think its about the age. I think every actor has their ups and downs.’

Johnny Depp has sued his former business managers, saying that he faced “gross misconduct” that resulted in him losing “tens of millions of dollars”. The managers, however, have denied the allegations and responded that the suit is a fabrication and a result of Depp's “profligate” spending. Depp made the allegations in a lawsuit filed on Friday in a state court.

‘Got to modify Batman suit’

Ben Affleck, whose upcoming standalone Batman movie has been getting delayed for some time now, says he is facing a lot of “pressure” while working on the project as he has to play the superhero in it and direct it at the same time. “I know what it's like to be in the suit. We'll have to modify the suit to make it a little bit easier to put on and take off,” said Affleck.

“When you are in it, you can be sweating, crazy and exhausted, do your part and walk away. But when you're a director, you can't walk away. You have to be there for everybody. Chief among the challenges of doing Batman, will be finding a suit that's more comfortable,” he added.

Affleck added: “Superhero movies get the level of attention that is nothing like any film I've done.”
