Tata Power Delhi Distribution (TPDDl) has been conferred with the prestigious ‘Rooftop Solar Enabler of the Year Award’ in the Utility Category at the Indian Rooftop Solar Summit 2016 organised by FirstView Research and Publishing Pvt ltd — one of the world’s leading business information service providers at New Delhi. The company was awarded for taking innovative and positive steps to promote sustainable development of solar rooftop projects in Delhi and for the initiatives taken to encourage rooftop solar projects as a utility.
The award was presented by KS Popli, CMD, IREDA; Ketan Shukla, joint secretary ARM, Ministry of External Affairs and former Secretary GERC; VK Garg, former CMD, PFC and chairman JERC and Vijay Kumar, MD, FirstView Group to Kaushik Sanyal, HOD, Business Service Group, TPDDl.
These awards have been primarily introduced to acknowledge and reward the power distribution companies that have taken new and positive steps to promote and more importantly practice sustainable development techniques that include encouraging rooftop solar projects and the commitment to produce Green Power for a healthier environment. The awards give a stage to highlight innovative sustainable practices and execution to motivate and inspire other companies to adopt similar policies and practices and transparently convey their performance. The conference saw participation by key delegates and decision makers from the all the stakeholders of the rooftop solar industry including key policy makers, government officials, financial institutions, project technology and equipment manufacturers as well.
