What made Parineeti upsetIJ

Actress Parineeti Chopra is unhappy with rumours that she is going to feature in director Farah Khan's next film.

There were reports that the Happy New Year director is penning a woman-centric film which might star Chopra and actress Alia Bhatt. The Shudh Desi Romance actress, who was also rumoured to be doing superstar Salman Khan's Sultan, is tired of hearing her name attached to “every single” film.

“I am just sad and so is Farah and everybody. Every single film that is being announced somehow has my name in it. I don't know why,” Chopra said in an interview.

“I think it is because I am not shooting right now, so people think oh this must be the film she is working now. I am just tired of that. I want people to wait and let me announce when I am ready,” she said.

Short films are very fascinating because we don't get the comfort of like two hours feature to tell the whole story and develop it. So you pretty much have to be very spot on in a short film to tell the whole story |FRIEDA PINTO

Vivek Oberoi who has always championed the cause of the girl child, will now be producing a film based on the inspiring story of six girls from his NGO DEVI. Celebrating the spirit of these fighters, the actor and philanthropist will base the film on the journey of these girls who were rescued from a sex racket by the NGO and later studied in the USA. These girls managed to achieve impressive grades and three of them  today are working in the US, with a bright future ahead of them, while the other three have decided to pursue higher education.

Given the inspiring and resilient nature of their story, Vivek now wants to turn this real life hero story to an onscreen adaptation.

Friends to re-unite for a special show

Actors Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt leBlanc and Matthew Perry will appear together on TV in February for the first time since the comedy series Friends ended its decade-long run in 2004.

The stars will reunite for a two-hour special to honour James Burrows, who directed 15 episodes of Friends and recently celebrated directing his 1,000th TV episode when he helmed NBC's Crowded.

“We are hoping that all six of them will be in the same room at the same time, but I'm not sure we can logistically pull that off,” NBC's chairman Robert Greenblatt said.

Burrows is also known for his work on Taxi, Cheers, Frasier, Will & Grace and Mike & Molly and many of the cast members of these shows are expected to also appear on the NBC TV special. The special, which is being produced by Sean Hayes from Will & Grace, will be taped later this month here and air on February 21.
