It seems 60s is really in and designers Hemant and Nandita will vouch for it. They have used bigger flower motifs in acid colours in shorter hemlines. The flowers are mostly embroidered and give a feel of the 1960’s pop style. The loose fit pantsuits, jumpsuits and button up skirts with large utility pockets will keep ruling our fashion sense.
A-line, boxy, sharp and short shift dresses depict a simplicity in design and construction for the bold, witty and free spirited. While the shades were mostly of 60s, they have used gold for that “Indian feel”. They said, “Orange will be in this season. Wherever we go dull, we spark it up with this colour. You can also team the long jackets with any dress.”
The footwear too complemented the relaxed feel. The box-style handbags were eye-catching and complemented the floral motifs. “I was rummaging through the books that I have been collecting from all my travels, and as I was flipping through some of the books whose cover interested me the most, I could feel the collection coming together. It was a feeling so strong that I just knew I had to do it” shared Nandita.
