FICCI FlO trained and monitored children from MCD schools and nominated them for Swachh Delhi Abhiyaan
An event was hosted by Neeta Boochra, president FICCI FlO and Harjinder Kaur, executive board member of FICCI FlO Delhi at FICCI Federation House to create awareness about Swachh Delhi Abhiyaan. Satish Upadhyay, BJP president for Delhi was the chief guest. He has nominated Harjinder Kaur for spreading Swachh Delhi Abhiyaan for the next five years. As a nominee, Harjinder further identified seven ratnas from MCD schools and nine ratnas from FlO to spread this programme and felicitated them.
The FlO ratnas identified were Namita Gautam, Nidhi Goel, Garima Singhvani, Sandhya Sethi, Poonam Sharma and Shashi Agarwal. The special invitees were Shobha Vijender Gupta and Aarti Upadhyay, who helped carrying out Swachh Abhiyaan by FICCI FlO.
A presentation was given to Satish on the model followed by FlO. The model will be replicated in all SDMC schools in next three months. The best school will be announced during AGM of FlO. Harjinder Kaur divided all the jewels and other nominees of FlO into three categories — action, awareness and advocacy.
Pilot projects were picked up at ITIs and primary schools of MCDs. An awareness and teaching/training of kids were done. They were monitored, given inputs and finally competitions were announced in schools in various categories of cleanliness. A request for dustbins to be installed at various locations has also been made. Many members have also contributed toilets for girls’ schools in Delhi for a better hygiene in schools.
