All India Radio organised a poetic gathering as a tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee
The small auditorium at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan resonated with poems like Kadam Milake Chalna Hoga and Aao Fir Se Diya Jalaye, penned by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Over 10 poets from all corners of the country got together to pay a tribute to the poet-politician a few days before his birthday.
Alok Shrivastava from Delhi recited Kadam Milake Chalna Hoga which spoke of the troubled times that we are living in and it is only through united efforts that we can overcome all obstacles. Naresh Shandilya, famous for his dohas, also shared excerpts from his works. Rajesh Raj from Gorakhpur, however, sang the verses based on Aao Fir Se Diya Jalaye.
“It was an honour to recite Atalji’s poems. Sitting amidst such big names in the world of kavita and shayari was an enriching experience. There was so much to learn from each one of them,” said Alok, the youngest poet at the sammelan.
The event saw participation of other renowned poets like Balswarup Rahi, Narendra Deepak, Satya Narayan, Vijay Kishore Manav, Yash Malviya, Kirti Kale, Vinod Shrivastava, Dinesh Raghuvanshi and Chandni Pandey.
