I hate producing films: Abhishek
Abhishek Bachchan, who tasted success as a producer with the National Award winning film Paa, says he's not a huge fan of producing movies. However, he's okay with the job as long as he isn't acting in the project as well. “I hate producing films. It's just that I got lucky with Paa,” said Abhishek, who played a reel father to his real father Amitabh Bachchan in the 2009 movie. “During Paa, I had a very difficult time because the producer in me came in the way of the actor in me. I would be more comfortable in producing a film without me acting in it. If I have to produce a film in which I am acting, that would need a lot of preparation and organisation from my part,” he added. Abhishek's next as a producer is Shamitabh, which again stars his megastar father. “Shamitabh is more enjoyable. Production is a very difficult job and it's a very thankless job,” said the 38-year-old.
Ben Affleck's Gone Girl, which was slated to release alongside Shah Rukh Khan's Happy New Year, will now hit the screens on October 31. The David Fincher-directorial was to release on October 24, a day after Diwali, and Happy New Year is releasing on the same day. The Hollywood movie is based on a best-selling novel by Gillian Flynn.
Fashion designer Rahul Mishra, who won the International Woolmark Prize (IWP) in Milan earlier this year, has launched his award winning collection in Sydney. Inspired by the works of a graphic artist Maurits Cornelis Escher, the six-piece collection will be sold through David Jones store in Sydney. “It is going to be really great for our brand on the commercial front, getting into these stores is a dream for any designer,” said Mishra.
Neil Harris gears up for the Oscars
Actor Neil Patrick Harris, who will host the Oscars in 2015, is ready with a list of things for the ceremony. The actor, who rose to fame with his portrayal of Barney Stinson in TV series How I Met Your Mother, which ended this February, shared his ideas during an interview with a radio channel. “Gaga, Adele. That would be cool, PinkIJ We could do circus things,” said the 41-year-old star when asked about his dream duet partner for the show. Harris has performed at the event in the past but this will be his first time as host. The actor has hosted the Tony Awards last year and Emmy in 2013 and 2009.
“I want to do something different for the Academy Awards and don't want to be super derivative of other shows. I would also like to honour the gravity of the Oscars without getting heavy and boring,” said the actor who recently got married to his long time partner David Burkta.
