‘Priyanka is our Hilary Swank’
Filmmaker Sanjay leela Bhansali compares Priyanka Chopra with Million Dollar Baby star Hilary Swank insisting that only Barfi! star could pull of the title role in Mary Kom, a biopic on Olympic bronze medalist and five-time World Champion MC Mary Kom. Sports drama Million Dollar Baby was the story of a waitress' determination to become a boxing champ and Swank played the protagonist in the film. “Mary Kom is a very special film and no one other than Priyanka could have pulled off the role,” Bhansali said. “Priyanka is an atom bomb and power packed talent. If Hollywood has Hilary Swank, we have Priyanka Chopra.” Bhansali also compared Priyanka's talent with Nutan and Waheeda Rehman saying she is in the “same league.”
Shah Rukh Khan has devised a new strategy to promote his forthcoming film Happy New Year (HNY). He has come up with Slam! The Tour, starting on September 19 at Toyota Center, Houston. The tour will have SRK and HNY’s cast — Boman Irani, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan and Farah Khan, travelling to places like Continental Arena, New Jersey. The tour will conclude on September 28 at SAP Center, San Jose, California.
Yo Yo Honey Singh has made customised pure gold lockets for the 10 contestants of India's Raw Star on Star Plus. He visited Ahmedabad, Varanasi and Jaipur to pick up his contestants presented them the lockets to welcome them at India's Raw Star family. Singh himself finalised the design of the lockets. He wanted to give the contestants a token of appreciation and acknowledgement.
Soha and Kunal get engaged
Actress Soha Ali Khan is over the moon after actor Kunal Kemmu, with whom she has been in a committed relationship for long, proposed to her. Soha took to Twitter to share with her fans that Kunal proposed to her and she accepted.
“It gives me great happiness to share with you all that Kunal proposed to me in Paris with the most perfect ring in the world and I said yes,” tweeted the actress Wednesday.
Neha Dhupia — her friend from the film industry — also congratulated her soon after reading the post. Other celebs too took to Twitter to congratulate the couple.
