I will always be 24: Anil
For actor Anil Kapoor, who will turn 57 today, has been a fabulous year. And the ‘ever-grin' Bollywood actor-star's smile just got bigger and brighter during the year, mainly because of his successful TV show 24.
“The number 24 has proved lucky for me. My serial 24, which just concluded, has been received with incredible enthusiasm. Now on my birthday I feel I am 24 years old,” said Anil on the eve of his birthday from Dubai.
“There is so much to do. And I want to do it all. I feel like a child in a toy store. I want everything, and I want it now,” he said. However, for his birthday Anil is flying back from Dubai to Jaipur, Rajasthan, where his two daughters are shooting. “Sonam has done very well for herself in 2013,” he said. Kapoor is flying high on success of 24.
Singer Palash Sen has landed into troubled waters after he allegedly made sexist remarks at an IIT event. Sen allegedly told the crowd at IIT-B's Mood Indigo, “Women are for beauty, men are for intelligence. You have to agree that men are more intelligent than women,” wrote a student in the blog. However, the singer has clarified his position. “During the concert, I couldn't hear any voices of women. So I asked if there’s any girl in the audience. When I did not get a response, I asked again, ‘Can I hear voice of any girl please, the most beautiful creation of God.' Now what's wrong in thatIJ I believe that women are the most beautiful creation of God and I'm not referring to the physical beauty here,” he said.
Reports say Yash Raj Film's Dhoom 3 has created a record by earning Rs 107.61 crore in its opening weekend. The film earned around Rs 33 crore on the opening day. Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted that the the Hindi film had alone grossed Rs 100.76 crore while its Tamil and Telugu version earned Rs 6.85 crore.
Beyonce gives away cards to fans
Pop star Beyonce Knowles gave away gift cards worth $37,500 to her fans after making an impromptu appearance at Walmart in Tewksbury, Massachusetts.b The 32-year-old surprised the Christmas shoppers by her visit and presented 750 customers with $50 gift cards, enclosed within envelopes that read, “Happy Holidays from Beyonce”.
Usmagazine.com reports that a store manager said that the singer also bought a few toys, including a baby doll, for her and her husband Jay Z's 23-month-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, and purchased $37,500 worth of gift vouchers. The Single ladies hitmaker was spotted in a aqua-coloured crop top and matching skirt. She teamed it up with a leather jacket.
