Hyderabad: In order to make Telangana a leading investment destination in the automotive and electric vehicle (EV) sectors, the state government has formed an executive council to prepare an action plan to attract investments in these sectors. The council has been constituted as part of preparations for the Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026.
The council, chaired by Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, will comprise experts, leaders and representatives from the automotive industry, with around 25 industry members already expressing their willingness to join. The council's first meeting is scheduled for November 11 and will be held in hybrid mode.
During the meeting, the minister will interact with industry representatives to discuss investment opportunities in Telangana, ongoing projects, new investment proposals, companies' expansion plans and future growth prospects in the automotive and EV sectors.
The meeting aims to explore investment opportunities and invite leading companies to participate in the summit. It will also seek suggestions and recommendations from industry representatives on government policies, infrastructure requirements and other challenges affecting industrial development.
The initiative also aims to strengthen coordination and partnerships between the government and industry to create a more favourable investment environment in Telangana.
The first executive council meeting is expected to play a crucial role in developing a clear roadmap for the growth of the automotive and EV sectors in Telangana, with a focus on attracting global investments and encouraging the active participation of leading industry players, the ministry said in a statement.
The initiative is also aimed at strengthening Telangana's position as a preferred destination for automotive and EV investments ahead of the Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026.
