Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday sought the support of the Yadav community for major infrastructure projects in Hyderabad, as part of the state government's efforts to make Telangana the most developed state in the country.
Speaking at the Sadar Sammelanam celebrations in Hyderabad, Revanth Reddy reaffirmed that the state government would take constructive steps to promote the youngest state of Telangana as the first rapidly developed state in the country.
“Our endeavour is to establish Telangana as the most developed state in the country. We are already moving forward with the development of the Musi Riverfront, the expansion of the Metro rail network, creation of 'Bharat Future City' and it requires the support of Yadavs,” he said.
Extending greetings to the community, the Chief Minister said the Congress government had provided political representation to Yadavs and would continue to ensure their due share.
“Anil Kumar Yadav was given the post of Rajya Sabha MP, and Naveen Yadav was made an MLA from the Congress. We also appointed Eshwaramma Yadav as a member of the Yadagirigutta temple board,” he said.
Assuring the community that its interests and self-respect would be protected, Revanth Reddy said the government was making arrangements for the protection of cows at the shelter in Yadagirigutta.
“It is also our responsibility to ensure that the self-respect of the Yadav brothers is never compromised. Arrangements were already being made for the protection of cows at the 'Goshala' (cow shelter) in Yadagirigutta,” he added.
Referring to the Yadav community's contribution to Hyderabad's development, the Chief Minister recalled that Golconda Fort was popularly known as 'Gollamkonda' in the past.
He said the government had sanctioned Rs 5 crore for the Sadar Sammelanam celebrations and declared the event a state festival in recognition of the Yadav community. He described the festival as a celebration of self-respect for the people of Telangana.
Revanth Reddy also said the caste census conducted by the Telangana government had become a model for the rest of the country.
