Hyderabad: BRS deputy floor leader and former minister T. Harish Rao urged Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy not to deprive the job opportunitie of state’s engineering graduates by not postponing the TGPSC Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) examination scheduled for November 6, as the SSC Junior Engineer (JE) examination is also on same date.

In an open letter to the Telangana CM, Harish Rao said thousands of engineering job aspirants in the state were at risk of losing employment opportunities because the SSC JE and TGPSC AEE examinations were scheduled for the same date.

“Do not jeopardise job opportunities for Telangana engineering graduates. Immediately postpone the TGPSC AEE examination scheduled for November 6,” Harish Rao said in the letter.

He questioned how candidates appearing for the SSC JE examination in other states could return to Telangana immediately to take the AEE examination. Unemployed youth who had spent years preparing for both competitive examinations were now in a difficult situation, as they were being forced to give up one of the two examinations, he said.

“Despite repeated requests to reschedule the examinations, the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) has failed to respond. Even Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy wrote a letter to the TGPSC on October 14, urging it to reconsider the examination dates,” Harish Rao added.

Unemployed youth were not demanding the postponement of examinations without providing jobs, he said, adding that they were only seeking an opportunity to appear for both examinations.

Questioning the state government's approach, the BRS leader asked why Telangana could not reschedule the examination when states such as Odisha and Bihar had revised examination dates under similar circumstances.

Harish Rao urged Revanth Reddy not to let political ego come in the way of unemployed youth's future and called for his immediate intervention to postpone the AEE examination.

He also demanded that the state government and TGPSC take necessary precautionary measures to prevent such scheduling conflicts in the future.
