The Delhi Police has arrested a woman who with the help of her paramour got her husband murdered in Khajuri Khas area on February 6.
Police said that the accused Praveen Kumar, paramour of the woman along with one other person executed the murder.
The deceased identified as Krishna Kumar Sharma, a taxi driver was found murdered inside his Alto car near Government Girls School Khajuri Village.
During the probe police found red marks on the neck of the body and subsequently a murder case was registered. Based on CCTV footage and with the help of informers the body was identified as that of Sharma, resident of Karawal Nagar.
A detailed study of CCTV footage installed in the neighbourhood was scanned and the team stumbled upon a clip where a Alto car was seen parked in front of the deceased’s house late at night. Based on the clips, the team zeroed in on the accused.
Police picked up Krishna’s wife who on sustained questioning confessed that she wasn’t happy with her husband and wanted to get rid of him. She had an affair with Praveen Verma and asked him to eliminate her husband. The duo made a plan to kill Krishan Kumar on February 6 night as his father had gone to Bulandshaher to attend a marriage and no one was at home, said a senior police officer.
As planned, Parveen told her to keep the main gate of the house open to make it easier to enter the house.
At night Praveen along with one more person came and murdered Krishan Kumar. Kumar’s wife provided a blanket to hide the body and Parveen went to dispose the body.
In order to show that her husband was missing the woman threw the shoes of her husband in a storm water drain. She also burnt the clothes he was wearing that day so that it would become difficult for the police to identify the body.
However, the couple ran out of luck as the body was finally identified and the CCTV footage captured the suspicious movement of the car.
Police arrested the woman and based on her statement a team has been sent out to nab the paramour who is missing, added the police.
