Ahead of US President Barack Obama's visit to India during January next year, Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel said that those who denied visa to Narendra Modi for almost a decade are now queuing up to be with him.
The US President is visiting to India to attend the Republic Day (January 26) function on invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Patel was speaking at an inaugural function of India's largest spinning mill developed by Welspun India limited (WIl) near Anjar in Kutch.
Praising her mentor Modi on Saturday, Patel said that earlier Prime Minister of India's abroad visit was not considered much important internationally, but after Modi became PM, view on India has completely changed globally.
“Even within the country things have changed after the change in Government at Centre. For example, speeches of previous Prime Ministers on 15th August from Red Fort were not being taken seriously. No one was remembering what the Prime Minister said. However, the famous speech of Narendrabhai from Red Fort on Independence Day is still being discussed,” said the first woman Chief Minister of Gujarat.
Quoting Modi's speech, she further said that the Prime Minister emphasised on four crucial issues during the Independence Day speech - 'Make in India', Clean India, Skill Development and Digital India. "Gujarat is committed to lead the nation by performing well on all these four issues. Commissioning of India's biggest spinning mill in Kutch is a proof of our commitment towards PM's 'Make in India' concept," she added.
Talking about Skill Development, Patel said that Gujarat would like to link MANREGA with textile industry. She also hinted that her government was planning to set up one of the biggest Textile Park in near future. The septuagenarian Chief Minister Anandiben also talked about awareness on cleanliness and importance of toilet at every home in the country.
She also praised Modi for his efforts on e-governance, which gave edge to Gujarat over other States as far as Digital India campaign is concern.
