Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) made it amply clear that they are totally depending on bade bhai “Prime Minister Narendra Modi” to construct a Ram temple at Ayodhya. VHP International president Pravin Bhai Togadia said in Bengaluru on Saturday that they do not want to make construction of Ram Temple an election issue but reposed faith in elder brother Modi to create a conducive atmosphere to build the Ram temple at Ayodhya. He said “there is no agitation against elder brother Modi. VHP won’t rake up the mandir issue”.
“Ram mandir will not be an election issue. We have complete faith in Modiji. I believe the Government will summon a joint session of both houses of Parliament to work towards a law to build Ram mandir. No quarrel with Modi’s Government. This is our big brother’s Government. Has anyone seen a younger brother fighting with the elder brotherIJ,” he added.
Speaking to reporters after inaugurating a two-day National Convention of Bajrang Dal here, he said, “since BJP has come to power and our ‘big brother’ has become Prime Minister, we have full confidence in him and are waiting for green signal through constitution and we are confident of getting it.”
Replying to a question, he said that the question of ‘waging a war’ against Uttar Pradesh Government does not arise since the land meant for Ram mandir was with the Centre. “Why should be fight against a State Government when it is not necessary,’’ he asked
Dr Togadia said that Ram temple had never been an election issue and the efforts were continuing since 1984, when VHP passed a resolution to construct the temple at Ayodhya and now the time had come for the BJP to pave the way for it as it had come to power at the Centre.
He said terrorism has already made inroads in to the country and need of the hour is for an united fight to wipe it out.
“Whether it is recent attack on Pathankot Air Base or Malada incident, both the incidents are similar. One was supported by Pakistan and another by terrorists who have made inroad in the country. There is threat for country’s secularism by anti-Hinduism forces,” he added.
Earlier, in his inaugural address, Togadia said with terrorist’s activities mounting now the time has come to protect country’s culture, economy and progress. “Only Government cannot fight against terrorist outfits, all of us should join hands with the Government in the fight to upkeep culture, ensure security to all citizens,” he declared.
“We will awaken youth to fight against terrorists. It is our duty to protect the country. If we compromise with terrorism, it is end of the country’s economy. VHP want the country to become free from terrorism,” he added.
Togadia alleged that the recent reports about some youth traveling to Syria to join ISIS shows that it is also spreading its influence in India also.
