A helpless 75-year-old widow has requested the Delhi Police to get her justice as she was thrown out of her own house by her son and daughter-in-law after badly thrashing her after she protested against their move to sell the house. She has also requested police to get her admitted in any hospital for the treatment of the injuries that she suffered after being beaten by her son and daughter-in-law.

The incident has been reported from South Delhi's Vasant Kunj. A senior police officer said a case has been registered under Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizen Act at the Vasant Kunj (South) Police Station.

“The victim told us that after death of her husband, her son Babu Ram and his wife Sudesh Devi started mistreating her after she refused to sign on the property paper. They then took her to another room in Fatehpur Beri where she was forced to live in miserable condition,” police said.

Her trauma did not end here, her son and daughter-in-law then started threatening her of dire consequence. They allegedly used to lock the victim inside bathroom for hours.

“At night, they used to switch off all lights to scare me. When they failed in their attempts, they took me to an isolated spot in a van and beat me up due to which I suffered injuries in my hand,” the victim told the cops.

After being subjected to torture for months, the victim finally decided to approach the cops and lodged a complaint. She told police that she did not have money for her treatment.

The victim also said that she was so scared of her son and his wife that she used to answer her nature's call in her room itself and when no one was around. She would take the excreta outside and throw it.

Police said that they have also added the Sections 365 (kidnapping) and 342 (confining a person) 323 (voluntary causing hurt) of IPC in the FIR. “We are helping the victim and are probing the matter,” police added.
