Tigers are secretive animals and have an elusive nature. I find tigers an ultimate symbol of wildness and perhaps our link to nature. Everybody is enamored or afraid or in some way has some kind of relationship with a tiger.
If we can't save an animal with that strong a cultural symbol, not only for India, but for the whole world, it will be a shame. There is something mystic about the grandeur of a tiger that has captivated generations of people. It is, today, the symbol of conservation that represents the importance of preserving our natural ecosystem. It’s only natural that there is so much emphasis and passion every time the subject of discussion is the tiger
— Bipasha Basu, actress
life is tough for animals. And the battle is getting harder with each passing day. Climate change and human interventions are making it tougher for animals to survive. Under the threat of fire, habitat destruction, poaching and environmental changes, a large number of species will be soon included in endangered animals list if action is not taken immediately. Tiger is just an embodiment of this cause. The tiger's traditional image is of a solitary, bloodthirsty killer. There are tales of man-eating tigers, of tigers fighting to the death and killing their cubs. There is truth in all these tales but it is only part of the truth. This month-long series of Where Tiger Rules will explore the evolution of the tiger, its secret behaviour, why it is such a successful hunter and the way it has adapted to very different environments. Above all, it’s a unique opportunity to observe the private life of one of the world's most charismatic creatures
— Ajay Devgn, actor
With Animal Planet's wildlife experts, conservationists and presenters leading the way, viewers will embark on a journey of exploration and information as they learn about these amazing animals and their ever-increasing endangerment.
Habitat loss and poaching threaten to destroy tiger population throughout the world. With only a few thousand tigers left in the wild, many experts worry about the survival of these majestic creatures. If we do nothing, the tiger will be wiped off the face of the Earth. It is sad that our future generations will grow up in a world with no wild tigers. It’s essential that things must change.
