Prasanna Kumar Suryadevara, who served as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Somnath Chatterjee when he was the lok Sabha Speaker, is the new Secretary of Delhi legislative Assembly. Suryadevara would replace PR Meena, who is holding as additional charge of Secretary, Delhi Assembly.
Suryadevara is currently a joint director-level officer in the Rajya Sabha. Following the direction of the AAP Government, Speaker Ram Niwas Goel has chosen Suryadevara for this assignment to aid and assist him in running the House and its Secretariat. Before moving to the Delhi Assembly, Suryadevara served the lok Sabha for five years and the Rajya Sabha for over six years through the offices of lS Speaker and RS Chairman respectively.
It is noted that earlier the post of Secretary Delhi Assembly was held by IAS or secretary and additional secretary-level officer. Suryadevara will join on Monday.
