Slight tremor felt in Kochi

Pioneer

A low-intensity tremor was felt in some parts of Kochi on Saturday, triggering panic among the people living and working in high-rise buildings. Scientists said that the tremor felt in Kochi at noon Saturday was not a quake but an after-effect of the high-intensity quake which rocked North Indian regions. People ran out of buildings after they felt the tremor, which forced the Justice G Sivarajan, who is looking into the infamous solar scam, to suspend its proceedings. Justice Sivarajan and CPI leader Pannyan Raveendran, who had reached the commission’s office to record his statement, said they felt the tremor too.
