Rain basera for attendants at lady Hardinge Hospital

Staff Reporter

To provide shelter to relatives of patients admitted at the lady Hardinge Medical College Hospital in the severe cold, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has created a 50-bedded temporary night shelter. The initiative has been launched by the ‘wives’ welfare association’ of the force keeping in mind the prevailing cold weather conditions and the dearth of such free facilities near hospitals.

A CISF spokesperson said that the tented rain basera (night shelter camp) has mattresses, bed covers, pillows and quilts for the needy people recommended by the authorities of the said hospital. It will have separate enclosures for men and women assistants of patients.

“The power and drinking water facility have been made available in the camp. Tea and biscuits will be served in the morning and the camp will be under the supervision of senior officers,” said the spokesperson.
