In order to strengthen party’s position on BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s home turf, All India Congress Committee (AICC) vice-president Rahul Gandhi himself is taking keen interest in organisational activities of Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC).

On Monday, Gandhi has called on GPCC president Arjun Modhvadia and leader of Opposition in Gujarat Assembly Shankersinh Vaghela for a review meeting in view of upcoming lok Sabha election. Of the 26 lok Sabha constituencies in Gujarat, State Congress leaders have completed 22 constituency wise review meetings.

GPCC president and Vaghela would submit a report during the meeting with Gandhi, said a source in Congress.“Review meetings for another four lok Sabha constituencies would be conducted in the next week,” said Manish Doshi, Gujarat Congress spokesman. Meanwhile, AICC president Sonia Gandhi has approved a list of new district as well as city presidents proposed by Modhwadia.
