A day after three students of Jawaharlal Nehru University met with a tragic end after they met with an accident inside the campus, JNU authorities have formed an internal ‘Finding Committee’ to look into the incident. Those killed have been identified as Ravi Shankar Choudhary, Santosh and Ravi Gupta, all students of Master of Arts (MA) final year in Korean language.

Speaking to The Pioneer Prof SK Sopory, Vice Chancellor of the University said that the committee has been formed to investigate about the incident with regard to all aspects, be it security, department, hostel and others. “The Chief Proctor will head the committee and prepared a detailed report. We will also prepare a charter for precautionary measures to be taken in future if any shortcomings are found,” said Sopory.

Meanwhile, investigations with regard to the incident have identified another bike being behind the bike of the deceased. Sopory also confirmed the same and said that the guards had seen three persons on one bike (bike of the deceased) and two persons on another bike. “We are trying to identify the people who were tagged in the picture which was uploaded by Choudhary on his social networking profile while drinking hours before the accident. Rahul was on the second bike along with Shyam and was questioned to ascertain the sequence of events,” said a police official. Sources revealed that they all were partying and talking at ‘Rock Point’ in the campus and were heading out. “Rahul claimed that they all started out together but he changed his direction mid-way as nothing was planned. They drank at Gupta’s hostel in Tapti. It was only after the crash sound that he returned and saw them lying on the ground,” the source said.
