OHE wire disrupts Metro services for two hours

Staff Reporter

Delhi Metro services were disrupted for around two hours on Saturday after some foreign material got entangled in the Over-Head Electrification (OHE) wire near Rajouri Garden station due to the thunderstorm. Hundreds of passengers had a harrowing time as the metro trains were delayed for 10-15 minutes at every station on Dwarka Sector-21 to Noida City Centre route.

According to a DMRC spokesperson, some foreign material got entangled in the OHE wire near Rajouri Garden station due to thunderstorm around 3:45 pm. Train movement was regulated in two short loops from Kirti Nagar to Noida/Vaishali and Subhash Nagar to Dwarka. Trains were running on a single line between Kirti Nagar and Subhash Nagar stations, the spokesperson said.

“The eight coach trains were jampacked as passengers were struggling to reach their destination on time,” a regular commuter on the route said.
