Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said he was facing no hurdles or problems running a coalition Government with lalu Prasad’s RJD and Congress. Similarly, he said he faced no issue when he had alliance with the BJP until the change of leadership in that party.
Speaking here on Saturday at the Advantage Concalve, “Bihar 3.0: Ummeed ki Udan,” the CM said he had aligned with the BJP on certain conditions at a time when no party wanted to go near the saffron party and everything went on smoothly but then some situation was created when the top BJP leaders whose names were used in the slogan were sidelined and kept like heritage.
“I have no problem with the present alliance and everything going on smoothly with all clarity. The programmes of the grand alliance are being implemented without any obstacle,” Nitish said allaying the apprehension of having issues with lalu.
Nitish also called upon all the non-BJP parties to close ranks. “On one side is BJP and the need of the hour is that all non-BJP parties should unite to take advantage of the anti-Sangh atmosphere in the country. We have to unite against the policies and ideologies of the BJP and RSS in order to further strengthen the democracy,” said.
After a half an hour speech, the CM sat down with eminent journalist Shekhar Gupta and replied to his questions. He said the situation in Jammu & Kashmir is worsening since the day BJP and PDP formed government second time. He also took the BJP for raking up nationality issue and flag hoisting. “Those who have no role in freedom struggle are branding others anti-national and who loved to unfurl saffron flag are now advocating to fly tricolour. This is a big contradiction,” the CM added.
Nitish said the total prohibition on liquor will usher the society in a transformed fashion where peace will prevail and people will live happily and through his seven resolves, he would change the living condition of men, women and youth living in urban and rural areas.
“The crime rate has come down since the implementation of total prohibition and now the men who used to drink and assault their wives are now helping them in kitchens,” he told the audience.
