In a sensational murder case with a clear throwback back to the Aarushi Talwar murder case, a mother and her two children from South Kolkata were on Saturday morning found murdered and her critically injured husband in an unconscious state with his neck slashed, police said.

The incident took place at the posh Palm Avenue area opposite former Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattcharjee’s residence.

Prima facie the murder looked like an upshot of a family conflict where the man his wife and twin sons had a brawl over what the cops suspected “an extra-marital affair.”

Jessica, her twin sons Tarren and Joshua both class IX students were found murdered inside their flat while her husband Neil Fonseca, 49 an interior designer was found in an unconscious state when the police reached their after getting information from neighbours that the family was not responding to phone calls, a senior police officer said.

Neil reportedly told the police from his hospital bed that he had killed Jessica after he saw her to have murdered her two sons after coming out of the washroom. The family had eaten out the previous night and the neighbours who saw the family return found no abnormality about them when they returned.

The victims were hit by knife and heavy blunt weapons “perhaps dumbles” preliminary inquest report or panchnama said.

Though things will be clearer after autopsy was conducted on the dead, police said but wondered why Neil should have a bath in a late winter night and why all of a sudden his wife would kill two young boys when he was inside the bathroom or for that matter how being a woman could she have overpowered the duo single-handedly.

What added mystery to the triple murder case was: “much like Arushi Talwar case Neil’s daughter and sister-in-law Shabanna who were sleeping in an adjacent room could not hear the sound.
