Con woman Saritha S Nair, main perpetrator of Kerala’s infamous solar scam, on Saturday said that the State would not be able to bear it if she revealed everything related to her and the scandal.
Saritha is accused of using her alleged relationships with top politicians including Ministers of the Congress and its allies for her fraudulent solar power business, told newsmen in Thiruvan-anthapuram, “Please don’t ask me to reveal all those things at one stretch. I think Kerala won’t be able to bear it,” Saritha. However, she chose to reserve the right to disclose whatever she wanted to. “I will decide when to disclose what,” she said, continuing to keep several top political leaders, mainly those belonging to the Congress, on the tenterhooks of anxiety in the context of the upcoming lok Sabha election.
“There are several things to disclose. But I am not doing it because it would lead the collapse of many families,” she told newsmen at the Cantonment police station in Thiruvananthapuram where she had arrived to lodge a complaint against Congress MlA AP Abdullakutty, who according to her, had been stalking and harassing her with obscene phone calls and SMSs.
The con woman, who has been accused of turning the office of Congress Chief Minister Oommen Chandy into her operational base, said that there was no truth in the allegation that Chandy had been helping her. “The Chief Minister is a person who was hounded by the people for no reason (in relation to the solar scam),” she said. “As far as the affairs of Team Solar (her company) are concerned, the Chief Minister had not helped me in any way,” Saritha said. She also said that she had not taken Mallelil Sreedharan Nair, a victim of her fraudulent business, to Chandy as he had claimed in a statement he had given to a court under Section 164 of the CrPC.
Saritha, who was released from jail on bail on February 21 after a nine-month detention over 46 fraud cases connected with solar power projects, admitted that she had close connections with some of the former aides of the Chief Minister.
