Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday extended his greetings to the people on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. In a tweet, Kejriwal said, “Warm greetings on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. I pray for safety of all sisters. I am going to Haridwar to celebrate Raksha Bandhan with my younger sister.”

He left for Haridwar to celebrate the festival with his sister. According to PTI, Kejriwal arrived at Haridwar railway station by Delhi-Dehradun Shatabdi Express at 11 am where he was given a guard of honour.

However, the Chief Minister returned the vehicle provided by the district administration and went to his sister’s place in his brother-in-law’s car. Kejriwal’s sister — who is a doctor in Bharat Heavy Electricals limited (BHEl), Haridwar - tied a Rakhi on his wrist only after 2 pm as it was not propitious to do so in the morning hours due to Bhadrakal.

Talking to the media at Haridwar, Kejriwal described his visit to the city as purely personal and offered his greetings to the people on the occasion of Rakhi. After spending the day with his sister, the Chief Minister returned to the capital by the Shatabdi Express.
