The Bengal Government on Saturday submitted a list of demands to the Centre when Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley met Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at her Nabanna office in Kolkata.
This was Jaitley’s first meeting with the Bengal Chief Minister after the BJP-led NDA Government came to power in Delhi. Earlier Union Minister Smriti Irani had met the Chief Minister.
While there was no comment from the State Government on what transpired in the meeting Jaitley who is also the Defence Minister said that the Chief Minister had told him about the financial requirements of the State.
