In a great relief to the Gujarat Government, the imprisoned convener of Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) Hardik Patel on Saturday broke indefinite fast and took lunch with Porbandar MP Vithal Radadia at Surat Jail.

The BJP MP Radadia was in constant touch with Hardik after he went on indefinite fast reiterating demand for reservation to Patel community in educational institutions and Government jobs under OBC category.

After having lunch with PAAS convener, Radadia met media persons outside lajpor jail and inform that Hardik broke fast.

Hardik had been on an indefinite fast since February 18th. He however later began taking juices and water as advised by doctors at Surat civil hospital where he was admitted as he fell ill.

Radadia, who is considered as strong Patidar leader in Saurashtra region was trying at the behest of Gujarat Chief Minister to persuade Hardik to break his fast agitation. On Saturday finally he got success to convince 22-year-old pro-quota leader to solve the issue with the Government amicably.

According to Radadia, he had discussion with Hardik on 35 points and out those there was agreement on 27 including that of withdrawal of cases against Patidar leaders related to pro-quota agitation. “We had talk on reservation to Patels under OBC category. I am confident that we would be able to sort out the issue in next 2-3 days,” said Porbandar MP after the meeting.
