After over a year, the Ghaziabad Police claims to have solved the murder mystery of the deputy general manager of Woodland.
During interrogation, two criminals from Indirapuram confessed to their involvement in the murder of DGM Nitin Sharma on July 20 last year. The incident took place outside his residence at Sector 4 in Shakti Khand, Indirapuram.
SP (City) Shiv Shankar Yadav said Sanjay and Sachin were nabbed on a tip-off and both admitted they acted at the behest of one Vijay, who is still at large. Vijay, in turn, was following instructions of a Haryana-based man, who had given him Rs 18 lakh to kill Sharma.
The police recovered two pistols of 0.30 and 315 bore, five live cartridges, a swift car and some cash from their
possession. The criminals said two others — Naveen and Manoj — were involved in the crime. Naveen was shot dead in a gang war, while Manoj is in the jail for some other crime.
Nitin Sharma (38), who worked in Woodland, lived with his wife Shalini and two daughters — Anshika (10) and Vanshika (6).
On July 20, Nitin was returning after dropping his daughters at Cambridge School. As he stopped outside the house, two assailants fired over a dozen shots at him. Nitin died on the spot.
