In a awful incident, a 24-year-old person inserted an iron rod into a six-year-old girl’s private parts on Friday in Sola area of Ahmedabad.
According to the police, the person identified as Kaushal Chauhan had some rivalry with the victim’s father and hence in order to settle the score he committed a serious crime. Chauhan hails from Uttar Pradesh and is working as security personnel at a construction site in Sola area where the girl’s parents are also working as labourer.
The critically-injured girl has been admitted to Sola Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad and according to medical team there she is in stable condition. The police said that Chauhan did not rape the minor. The incident took place when the girl was playing at an under-construction site.
Talking to The Pioneer, investigation officer and Sola police station in-charge Inspector BV Gohil informed that Chauhan was arrested within hours of the incident and has been booked under section 375 (d) of IPC – manipulating any part of the body of a child so as to cause penetration of the private part.
Meanwhile, police is also in the process to book him under the new anti-rape laws and under relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
