Jennifer Aniston talks about her experience shooting for Mother’s Day & how she spends this day with her mom. Excerpts

How was your experience working with Julia Roberts and director Garry Marshall in Mother’s DayIJ

I love Julia and I’ve known her forever. So it was really fun to actually be able to work together. Garry is pure sunshine. Along with kindness and goodness, all he wants is for you to be happy. He is loved and adored and a lot of people are here to just be with him.

In the film, you’re going through a bunch of emotions, happy and not so happy ones...

I play Sandy who learns that her husband has gotten remarried randomly and out of the blue. So she gets worried and tries to overcome the challenge of sharing her children. It’s tough to do so in a very short time, to adjust and rise above it. At the same time she is thrown by Tina’s (Shay Mitchell) presence also because she’s much younger. It’s a complete game changer, when another person comes in to co-parent a child.

Anything specific you and your mom do on Mother’s DayIJ

My mom and I usually go out for brunch and do some kind of crafty item and end up making something special each time. It’s fun to do something together.

Is there any particular ritual you and your family follows at homeIJ

Absolutely! Sunday dinner at home is Carbonara night, Justin’s reintroduced me to the Italian dish. I thank him for the extra 10 pounds too.

You look stunning. What’s your secretIJ

I’m healthy, but I don’t deprive myself. I wake at 5 am for yoga or pilates. If I’m working, that’s how painfully I’ve got to put myself through. I give myself an extra 45 minutes.

You come to that point in life where you’re at peace. Now that you’re married, do you think you’ve reached that stageIJ

Yes. I feel very peaceful. I literally wake up every day and feel very lucky and fortunate that I’ve got a sweet, kind man.
