PNS

Yet again Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) on Saturday apprehended innocent Indian fishermen off Gujarat coast. This is fourth such incident in the current year.

Secretary of National Fish-workers’ Forum (NFF) said that nearly 5 fishermen and 12 boats were apprehended by the PMSA personnel.  The fishermen are hailing from costal Okha and Porbandar town in Saurashtra region of Gujarat, said lodhari, adding that they sailed off the coast five days ago.

“Of the 12 boats, 11 are from Porbandar and one from Okha. We came to know about the incident from the fishermen on Gujarat coast who were in constant touch with the apprehended fishermen via wireless phone. The captive fishermen are still in the middle of the sea, but in the custody of PMSA personnel,” informed lodhari.

Just few days back, an Indian fisherman named Iqbal Bhatti was killed in firing near International Maritime Border line (IMBl). In the beginning of the year 2015, PMSA seized seven boats and apprehended 38 fishermen. Again in April PMSA arrested 47 fishermen and seized eight boats.
