Differently-abled students stand out

When there is a will, there is surely a way, and it has been proved again with exemplary performance by the differently-abled students in the CBSE Class XII examinations. While the topper Mudita Jagota from DAV Public School, Faridabad has scored 485 marks, Siddhartha Biswas of Kendriya Vidyalaya, RK Puram, is disappointed even as he stood second at the All India Ranking in this category, with 484 marks.

Biswas, an avid reader, is a Persons with Disability student and has an extremely low vision (6 inch distance) said his marks are not “up to his expectations”.

Biswas’s father, J Biswas, Group Captain, Indian Air Force, is going to apply for reevaluation of his son’s answer sheets. “He has worked very hard... He is not the one who just goes and writes the exam but he comes back and review his performance. He expected a full marks in Mathematics and Chemistry is also not up to the mark,” he told The Pioneer.

Siddhartha wants to become an engineer. His father said that his son is an “exceptionally hard working person.” While the ambitious Siddhartha has no limits, Rakshit Malik, a student of Amity International School is “very happy” with his result of 97.4 per cent in Humanities stream.
