A day after Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani demanded Ahmed Patel’s resignation from the Rajya Sabha over his alleged possible links to an arrested ISIS suspect, who was employed at a hospital of which Patel was one one of the trustees, the BJP on Saturday dared the Congress to come clean on the issue. Else, it said, the blot on them will be larger than that of corruption.
Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said instead of taking action, the Congress is busy accusing the BJP of politicising the issue. “This makes Ahmed Patel even more questionable,” he maintained.
Former Finance Minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram countered saying that he was amazed by the BJP’s outrageous demands.
