An Executive Engineer (EE) of Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA)  has lodged a complaint with police against two news channels for airing derogatory remarks and creating obstacles in discharging Government duty under sections of 189, 353, 505 (1) (b) and 7 criminal law amendment Act.

Police said the EE of GDA, RP Singh, filed a complaint against two news channels for repeatedly showing the defamatory and derogatory news from evening of April 27 on their news channels with “malaise intention” which even created a law and order problem.

The complaint states that the channels are airing allegedly fake news that Shalini Agrawal wife of Trilok Agrawal owner of Aura Infrastructure (P) ltd has developed a residential complex-Aura Chemara with convenient shopping centre and had compounded their shops. But the GDA vice- chairperson, secretary and enforcement department are sealing despite being paid compound fee.

The channels further alleged that developers paid over Rs 2 crore and Rs 50 lakh each to secretary and enforcement department respectively including senior officer as bribe.

Taking a serious note of the news being broadcasted, the GDA has decided to lodge the complaint. It further stated that fake news was being broadcasted with the ill will, one sided, and rebellious in nature. “We have registered an FIR at Sihani Gate Police Station.

No arrest has been made so far and investigation has been taken up.” said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vaibhav Krishna.
