The Centre is evolving a geospatial strategy for overall education by using information, communication and Technology (ICT) at school and university level to meet international standards.
The National Task Force on ‘Evolving Education Strategy’ constituted by the HRD Ministry under the chairmanship of Dr K Kasturirangan presented a report in this regard to HRD Minister MM Pallam Raju last week. The Task Force has come up with its recommendations on overall issues with Geospatial Education in the country at school level, university level, training and outreach needs, need for high end research, and also the possibility of setting up of an institution for geospatial education.
