A delegation of the Delhi BJP on Saturday met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh seeking removal of some “inept” officers in the Delhi Government and the Delhi Police. Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay said the Home Minister has assured of timely action. The delegation also demanded the Minister to urgently make the required changes so that the Delhi administration and Delhi Police could become more sensitive to the people.
led by Delhi party chief Satish Upadhyay, the delegation informed the Minister about the “rigid” and “negative” attitude of officers working in departments like food and civil supplies, health, education, social service, transport etc. “These officers are dealing with the people, but have an indifferent attitude towards their problems. Due to this, people are facing great difficulties in getting basic Government benefits like ration cards, social pension and hospital services,” said Upadhyay.
“The reason behind all these problems is the rigid and negative attitude and the inefficiency of the officers of these departments,” he added, saying the Home Minister assured action against the erring officers.“He (Singh) has assured us that he would meet Delhi lieutenant Governor, Najeeb Jung, senior officers in the Delhi Government as well as the Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi regarding our complaints and action will be taken against the officers,” he said.
