Anticipating quantum volume of vehicles in the coming years in the region, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has planned to construct another bridge over the Hindon River. In addition to easing the traffic situation
on Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, the proposed stretch will curtail distance and travelling time between the two towns. Commuters will have to traverse 5 km less since the bridge will connect these cities doing away with the need to go through Pari Chowk. It will connect Kulesra village in Noida to Dadri-Surajpur-Chhalera (DSC) Road near Greater Noida Authority office. The UP Bridge Corporation will execute construction work on the bridge.
As per plan, the six-lane bridge will connect Udyog Vihar area of Greater Noida and Kulesra village in Noida. The road will provide an alternative to the expressway and DSC Road as it will be connected via a roundabout near the administrative building of the authority. In Noida, three major roads from the expressway at Sector 163, Noida Extension and Sector 37 will merge with this bridge. If things go per plan, the proposed route will be operational within two years.
Presently three bridges are operational on Hindon River. One bridge is under construction which will connect the rural belts only. Since an additional 30 lakh people are predicted to populate the area by year 2030, plans are afoot to decongest key roads of the city. Both authorities have already approved a road parallel to the expressway and the proposed bridge will provide a shorter route.
