If we take care of our bodies and minds properly, we are well set for a quality life, says AJIT KUMAR BISHNOI
These two can enrich our lives like nothing else. Rather you don’t need anything else except these two for a perfect life. I am very serious when I make this assertion. You will agree with my contention; just read on. let us take God first. As this creation is God-centric, we can get everything from Him; rather we do get whatever we need from God either directly or indirectly. How do we get started in our livesIJ Yes, we need to learn many things. Who is best suited for this purposeIJ The answer has to be omniscient God. Who elseIJ As I stated earlier, God acts directly or indirectly. In case of an ordinary child, God acts through parents, teachers, etc. For special cases like that of Shankaracharya, He enlightens directly. There have been many cases when some children became highly proficient at an early age. Materially, we call them child prodigies and spiritually we call them blessed.
What more do we needIJ We must maintain our bodies. How does God help in thisIJ Who has created this worldIJ Who makes whatever we need availableIJ God does. Now we need to make the necessary efforts to obtain them; we already have the right knowledge and skills, having learnt them earlier by the grace of God.
What do we need nextIJ life has no meaning if there is no enjoyment and that too peaceful. From where do we get peace of mindIJ Only a good connection with God can ensure that. Similarly, the kind of enjoyment which satisfies can be known by spiritual intelligence only, not material intelligence. And who provides this spiritual intelligenceIJ We all know the answer. This comes from bona fide scriptures, genuine gurus, and learned persons and friends.
What should be on our wish list nextIJ It will be very long for most of us. Therefore, I will state whatever we lack. God promises to provide them if one is connected with Him through unflinching devotion. Similarly, what are we generally worried aboutIJ That we may lose whatever we consider very precious. God promises to protect them in the same verse of the Gita. (9.22)
Taking up mobility next. The human body is made to be active. It works best when it is suitably active. I will only detail one aspect of mobility, ie walking, and you can see how many benefits one derives by just walking regularly. Walking speeds up metabolism, which helps in changing food into energy and material for growth. Walking tones up the body by making our muscles and skin firmer and stronger. Regular walking keeps the body healthy. It sends sufficient blood to the brain — the organ inside the head that controls movement, thought, memory and feeling.
What do the doctors recommend to heart patientsIJ Walk, walk and walk, and your heart will give you least trouble. Walking helps in secreting good chemicals. What bothers so many these daysIJ It is depression due to secretion of depressants in the body due to negative emotions. Walking counteracts them to a great extent. A physically active person protects oneself from many diseases which afflict persons who live a sedentary life.
Need I write moreIJ You will agree that if we take care of our bodies and minds properly, we are well set for a quality life. God takes care of all our needs; He also gives us sufficient mental strength and peace. Mobility makes our bodies physically healthy. What is leftIJ As a bonus, God takes care of our emotional health by giving us the right intelligence, intellectual health by giving us the right knowledge and spiritual health results automatically, if we are well and truly bonded with God. Do you now agree that God and mobility will suffice for usIJ
