Some passersby noticed the child falling in the drain and made a call to the police control room. local police, along with fire tenders rushed to his rescue. “After reaching the spot, they started their rescue operation, but he could only be taken out of the drain after three hours, around 4.30 pm," a police officer said.

Police have not registered any case with regard to the incident as the family did not submit any complaint. "locals saw him falling and immediately ran to help him, but the current of water pushed him into the drain. Due to waterlogging they probably could not notice the drain.
