After Assam and Mizoram, flash floods and landslide hit Meghalaya on Saturday killing three people and injuring nine others besides demolishing several houses. Two others in the locality are missing. The incident took place at an industrial area near Umiam in Meghalaya’s Ri-Bhoi district bordering Assam, Ri Bhoi Deputy Commissioner CP Gotmare said while adding that rescue works have been on despite inclement weather.
“We have confirmed the death of three persons. Two others — a woman and daughter — are missing,” the DC said.
