A 21-year-old small time model was shot at by her husband at her residence in Srinivaspuri area on Friday night. The model, identified as Neha Sharma, resides along with her parents and a younger sister. Her husband, identified as Prince, was on the run after the incident. Police said the condition of the woman was critical but stable.
Neha Sharma had participated in various reality shows in Mumbai. On Friday night, her father, Pradeep Sharma spotted her in pool of blood on the ground floor of her house. He immediately took her to hospital and informed the police. She had received a bullet wound in her abdomen. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East) Mandeep Singh Randhawa said a case has been registered at Sunlight Colony police station. He said that they were yet to record Neha’s statement but police have launched a hunt to nab Prince.
Neha’s father, who works with a prominent sweet shop in South Delhi, told the police that a few days ago, a man who introduced himself as Prince came to their house. “Neha told her father that Prince is her husband. They got married in a temple five months ago without informing both their families,” said a police officer, adding “since then Prince was staying in their house.”
On Friday night, Prince informed Sharma that her daughter shot herself and he was going to take an auto, but he did not return. During investigation, police found that Prince had a heated argument with Neha before the incident. Preliminary investigation reveals that Prince is a resident of South Delhi’s Mehrauli area and runs a real estate business.
