COUPlE SEES THE IMAGE OF JESUS IN BABY’S SONOGRAM
A Pennsylvania couple says Jesus showed up in their daughter’s sonogram picture, easing their concerns after two other children were born with birth defects. Alicia Zeek and Zach Smith told WPMT-TV they’re not especially religious, but they’re convinced the image to the left of their daughter’s head is a bearded Christ.
Smith calls the image of Jesus “distinct” and says, “There’s another face looking at my daughter.” Zeek’s first two children had problems at birth. A daughter was born with two thumbs on one hand. Her son was born with a cleft palate after a difficult delivery in which she and the baby almost died.

RESIDENTS INTIMIDATED BY AGGRESSIVE TURKEYS
A group of wild turkeys has begun to terrorise a neighbourhood in New York, forcing some residents to stay inside. The wild turkeys first appeared in Stamford three years ago, and City Representative Steven Kolenberg said two males have matured and laid claim to the area after residents decided to feed them.
“They’ve gotten very territorial and aggressive, and they love to chase people,” he told WCBS radio.
Kolenberg said the turkeys have become so intimidating that some residents in the neighbourhood are afraid to leave their homes.
“I have been getting several complaints, mostly from older people afraid to leave their houses, and a few joggers who have been chased,” he told the Stamford Advocate. “But my biggest concern is for Newfield Elementary School, which is in the middle of these turkeys’ territory.”
The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection wild turkey programme biologist Michael Gregonis said the turkeys have lost their fear of humans after being fed. “When turkeys are fed by people, they become habituated to them and start to see them on the same level as other turkeys,” he said. “There’s a hierarchy in turkey flocks and each turkey has its place and they fight among themselves.”
Gregonis said once turkeys lose their fear of humans, they tend to target children, the elderly, and mail carriers due to their regular routine.
Kolenberg has turned to Stamford Animal Control for help to capture and relocate the turkeys and urged residents to stop feeding them. “It’s a public safety issue at this point,” he said. “We need the community to come together, stop feeding the turkeys, and if they still continue to come around, we need to push them out and make it uncomfortable for them to be in our neighbourhood.”

COUPlE WHO MET ON A BUS 13 YEARS AGO GET MARRIED ON ONE
A New York City couple who met on a bus 13 years ago have now gotten married on one. Random passengers and 50 guests joined Kara Mullins and Osvaldo “OJ” Jimenez for their wedding on an M14 bus last Sunday.
Jimenez told Mullins, “I’m glad I found my way to you!” Mullins told her groom, “I love you, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.”
A video of the ceremony aired on TV station NY1. Jimenez first spotted his future bride 13 years ago on an M14, a Manhattan local crosstown bus. He tells NY1 that when he suggested getting married on the same bus, she replied, “Heck, yeah, let’s do it.” A friend performed the ceremony as a Universal life minister.

BROTHERS WIN $100,000 AFTER AlMOST TOSSING lOTTERY TICKET
Two brothers in Maryland won $100,000 from a scratch-off lottery ticket they nearly threw away. The brothers, who the Maryland lottery did not name, have long pooled their money to play lottery games. They recently bought a batch of scratch-off games, which they were about to throw out — until one brother noticed at the last minute that one ticket was a winner.
“We had a stack of scratch-offs that I had tossed aside because they weren’t winners,” the older brother said. “I was at the store checking them, just to be sure, and when I scanned this one, it said, ‘Cash at lottery.’” They bought the ticket, for Maryland lottery’s $10 lady luck game, at a Harris Teeter supermarket in Bowie, just outside Washington, DC.
The older brother hopes other lottery players learn from his story. “You have to make sure you check your tickets,” he said.
The two brothers, from Frederick County, are sharing the winnings to pay for their bills and pad their savings accounts. The older brother also won a $100,000 scratch-off prize more than three years ago. The Maryland lottery said thousands of winning tickets for the lady luck game remain unclaimed, including seven $100,000 prizes.

MAN USES KUNG FU TO STRAIGHTEN BENT WRENCH
A kung fu practitioner in China showed off his skills with an unusual stunt — using strikes from his bare hand to straighten a bent wrench. The video filmed on August 13 in lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, shows Cao Yanyou using the back of his hand to strike a bent wrench.
Cao shows physical pain after the first strike, which does not appear to make much progress, but subsequent hits eventually straighten out the bent piece of iron. Cao said he has been practising kung fu for 30 years.
