Rescuers need help after they get stuck helping kayakers
Even rescuers get stuck, too, sometimes. That happened in the marshes of Hilton Head Island when a rescue airboat tried to help two kayakers who had got stuck during low tide. The Island Packet reports that authorities were called Thursday afternoon. David Refosco is second mate with Beaufort Water Search and Rescue. He says an airboat arrived around 1.30 pm and got close to the kayakers in about 10 minutes. Then, the rescue boat got stuck in a ravine among high marsh grass.
Refosco says they waited about 30 minutes for the tide to come in and were able to maneuver out of the situation and bring everyone to shore. There were no injuries, but the kayakers were covered in thick, brown mud. Not a great day at the beach.

Crabs scuttle for freedom at airport baggage claim
A traveller arriving at a Bahamas airport discovered something highly unusual at baggage claim — loose crabs making a break for freedom on and around the belt. A video captured in the baggage claim area at lynden Pindling International Airport shows dozens of crabs running loose among the luggage on the belt, while some of their crustacean cohorts climb down and scuttle across the floor.
The video shows some people working to corral the crabs into the cooler they apparently escaped from. “We were arriving at lPIA in Nassau, Bahamas, when I noticed the crabs had broken free of the box they were in and attempted to make a getaway,” the filmer wrote.

Girl left in tears after she’s fined for selling lemonade
A British man and his young daughter have gained international attention for being fined for selling lemonade. Andre Spicer said his five-year-old daughter was left in tears after local council officers fined her $195 for selling lemonade without a license near their home in london.
The girl was selling home-made lemonade to fans attending the lovebox dance festival when she was fined. The four officers approached the girl and began speaking in technical legal terms, telling her that her lemonade stand infringed on local business rights. Halfway through the interaction with the officers, Spicer said his daughter burst into tears and said “I’ve done a bad thing, daddy. I’ve done something wrong.”
“I think initially she was a bit shocked and sad,” Spicer said. “And then I suggested we try it again with a permit. And she said: ‘Oh, it’s a bit scary.’” He hopes that his daughter will overcome the “heart-wrenching” experience and continue to pursue entrepreneurial ideas.
Spicer wrote an article about the incident for The Daily Telegraph that garnered hundreds of comments and shares online. local officials said the fine will be cancelled immediately. They have apologised to the family.
In a statement on Friday, the council said it was “very sorry” about what happened and that its enforcement officers are expected to “show common sense, and to use their powers sensibly. This clearly did not happen”.

Military tank uses fast food drive-through
A group of men driving on a road in Belgium captured the moment a military tank on the road in front of them used a fast food eatery’s drive-through. The men followed the tank as it pulled into a fast food restaurant’s parking lot and obtained food from the drive-through. “After a Military parade on the National Holiday in the Belgian capital, we spotted one of the tanks that took part in the parade go towards and through a Quick burger restaurant drive-in. The soldiers eventually left with their burgers and headed home,” the filmer wrote.

Ivanka serves hot dogs with marshmallows
Ivanka Trump threw her daughter Arabella a birthday party on Monday. US President Donald Trump’s granddaughter turned six. As you might imagine, Ivanka, who’s an advisor to her dad Donald, shared some photos of the celebrations. One image in particular caught people’s attention — Ivanka had put marshmallows on hot dogs! Yes. Sweet, fluffy marshmallows atop ground pork frankfurter sausages. Ivanka posted the pictures to Snapchat, and it wasn’t long before people began questioning the bizarre food combination. Incidentally, skewering marshmallows and hot dogs is a common theme at children’s birthday parties in the Philippines. Before you ask, no, Arabella’s do wasn’t held in the Philippines, nor is the Trump family secretly Filipino.
