American Congressman replaced by robotIJ
A US congressman was replaced by a look-alike robot after being hanged in a televised execution in southern Ukraine, according to his failed election challenger. Timothy Ray Murray, who unsuccessfully opposed congressman Frank lucas in last week’s Oklahoma Republican primary, made the astonishing claim on his website.
He says he will be contesting the election and demands lucas’ votes be transferred to him, because “it is widely known Rep. Frank D. lucas is no longer alive.”In his statement, Murray is careful to make clear that he is, in fact, a human being. He also says: “I will NEVER use an artificial intelligence look-alike to voice what The Representative’s Office is doing nor own a robot look alike. The world knows the truth,”
Alleged robot lucas won Tuesday’s election with 82 per cent of the vote, compared to 5.2 per cent of Oklahomans who voted for genuine human being Murray.

Man forced to wear tag reading ‘Gaytard’
A fast food worker in Yankton, South Dakota alleges that he was harassed and discriminated against when his manager forced him to wear a name tag with a homophobic slur. KElO Keloland Television reported that Tyler Brandt, a 16-year-old Taco John’s employee, quit his job after a manager pressured him into wearing a name tag with a demeaning label.
“The manager pulled me into the office and gave me a name tag that read ‘Gaytard’ on it and asked me to wear it,” Brandt explained.
“So I put it on because I didn’t want to upset him and I felt that if I did do anything to upset him that it would cause me to possibly lose my job because he would be looking for ways to fire me.” KDlT reports that Brandt learned early on that the management at that Taco John’s franchise had a “reputation for picking on employees,” though he didn’t think it would have gone as far as it did.

Worker loses job after saving cat
Back in May, former highway superintendent Jim Mackie received a phone call asking him to rescue a cat that had gotten itself stranded in a 40-foot-tall tree during a recent storm. So, Mackie took a bucket truck out to the scene and rescued the cat, Kaboodle. However, far from a feel good animal rescue story, Mackie’s rescue operation ended up costing him his job.
That’s because Kaboodle was stuck in a tree several miles outside of the Phillipston town limits in neighbouring Westminster and the person who called Mackie for help was his girlfriend, Jackie Prime. The situation escalated when Mackie phoned a local highway worker to pull the bucket truck out of the mud. The enlisted highway worker wasn’t happy and reported Mackie to his supervisors.
Mackie was suspended for two weeks with pay. After refusing some suggestions that he resign the post that he’s held for 20 years, Phillipston selectmen declined to renew his contract, essentially firing Mackie.
